A Beautiful Accident - How I became a copywriter

I never thought I’d be a writer, like a REAL WRITER.

I used to write fictional short stories, various types of poetry and have kept a journal since childhood. I never dreamed of becoming a writer or fantasized about being published but I was first published in 3rd grade for a poem I wrote in some local contest. For me writing was just a hobby, an outlet, a way to express and process my inner workings.

My first career calling was as an animal caregiver and vet technician. I worked on ranches, with dog rescues and veterinary clinics. Once I realized I didn't really want to be a vet, mostly because of the length of schooling and the actual day-to-day duties; I sought other caregiving opportunities. Slightly better paying - early childhood education was my second career calling. I dedicated myself to my students and their families; they filled my heart with joy and purpose for many years.

I watched literal babies become amazing children and even saw some become outstanding adults. I helped raise thousands of children in my career… 3 biological but all loved the same ~ fully and with guiding intent. Seeing all these humans grow and develop started a fire in me and piqued my interest in human development, psychology and human behavior in general.

The more I learned and studied in my Bachelors Program and on my own (I used to listen to audio textbooks about brain chemistry for fun 😅); the more I was able to observe, analyze and provide accurate feedback in current context… in almost any situation.

I identified my gift of being able to read people, read situations and seamlessly adapt myself and my delivery of communication both in content and style.

My hyper observance, subconscious analytical collection, along with my genuine positive intent & highly intuitive demeanor has allowed me to provide some of the most accurate judgments and assessments in many situations personal and professional.

As there are no coincidences in this life, only synchronicities, a remarkable opportunity arose for me to start writing editorial content about issues I was passionate about.

At the time of writing that piece, and the experience that allowed it to flow straight from my soul … it was an awakening that literally changed my life.

I became Me2.0 and was moving in a whole new energy. I took the time to refocus priorities in my life and began directing my life & career in a new direction. That writing opportunity turned in several years experience in journalism, publishing and production flow management. I became Associate Editor of YellowScene Magazine for a few years - I learned a lot in that position, mostly about my capability and willingness to get things done successfully.

I decided it was time to open these wings and fly! I began freelancing full-time in 2019 writing blogs and marketing material for clients of my own. In the last 6 years - I have worked successfully with many clients in varying industries. From email copy, to building websites, designing business cards and even social media management- I have helped solidify brands, market positioning and run successful marketing campaigns.

And the best part of it - I love every minute of it. Sure I thoroughly enjoyed my careers before and always will be a natural caregiver, but writing allows me infinite opportunities for deep exploration and expression. Finding that joy in my work allows for me to perform with passion and it shows in my completed work & satisfied clients.

Me2.0 is going for 100% authenticity.
